After the season, mired in debt, the franchise was revoked by the USL. Charleston moved down to USL2, and Cleveland folded. Additionally, a group of teams broke away trying to start a new league (NASL). A brokering effort by USSF resulted in a split decision, with USL/NASL season of 6 teams each slated for the 2010 season.
